Group Activity: Clause Identification from CoPM (Visual-Based Learning) #
Intent:
This activity is designed to familiarize participants with the clause structure and requirements of the Code of Practice for Palm Oil Mills (CoPM) by interpreting real-world scenarios through photos and matching them to applicable clauses. Participants will also practice identifying valid audit evidence types as part of the audit process.
📝 Activity Instructions: #
- Group Formation
All participants are to be divided into 5 groups. Each group will take part in turn, but participants will participate individually within their group. - Photo Reference Material

- Participants must refer to the CoPM standard clauses available here:
🔗 https://oshisis.com/docs/code-of-good-milling-practice-for-palm-oil-mills-copm - For each selected photo, the participant must:
- Identify the most relevant 1 clause from the CoPM standard.
- Determine the appropriate type of objective evidence to verify compliance:
- I = Interview
- D = Document Review
- O = Observation
- (Or combination such as I+D, D+O, etc.)
- Participants must refer to the CoPM standard clauses available here:
- Turn-by-Turn Presentation
- The activity will proceed in a rotating sequence: Group 1 → Group 2 → Group 3 → Group 4 → Group 5, then back to Group 1 and so on.
- Each participant may only write ONE clause per turn.
- If the participant identifies additional relevant clauses for the same photo, they must wait until their next turn to write it.
- Clauses that have already been used by others are not allowed to be repeated.
- Objective Evidence Justification
Participants must clearly state the type of evidence (I, D, O, or combination) that would best support verification of the clause identified. - Marking Reference
