MSPO 2.0 Awareness Program: Group Activity

Objective: To enhance understanding of MSPO 2.0 principles and standards through practical application and team-based learning.

Activity: Group Discussion and Report Presentation

Procedure:

  1. Group Formation: Divide participants into four teams of equal size.
  2. Topic Assignment: Assign each team one of the following topics:
    • Team 1: Policy and System for Ethical Conduct and Anti-Bribery
    • Team 2: Monitoring Approach and Target Setting for Ethical Conduct and Anti-Bribery
    • Team 3: Fire Response and Mitigation Plan for Peatland
    • Team 4: Fire Response and Mitigation Plan for Non-Peatland
  3. Group Discussion: Each team will discuss their assigned topic, drawing on their experiences in oil palm plantations. They should consider the following:
    • MSPO 2.0 Requirements: Review the relevant MSPO 2.0 principles and standards. (Refer to standard link – Part 3-1, Part 3-2)
      • Team 1 and 2 – refer to clause 4.2.4 for guidance
      • Team 3 and 4 – Refer to clause 4.5.7 for guidance
    • Best Practices: Identify effective practices in the industry.
    • Challenges and Opportunities: Discuss potential challenges and opportunities in implementing the proposed solutions.
  4. Drafting the Report: Each team will concisely outline their proposed approach.
  5. Presentation: Each team will present their findings to the entire group. The presentation should be clear, concise, and engaging.

Additional Tips:

  • Encourage participants to think critically and ask questions.
  • Provide relevant resources and guidelines to support the group discussions.
  • Facilitate open and honest communication among team members.
  • Offer constructive feedback to improve the quality of the reports and presentations.

By engaging in this group activity, participants will gain a deeper understanding of MSPO 2.0 requirements and develop practical skills in addressing real-world challenges in the oil palm industry.
